Just finished this one, its an original Pioneer 2 Sea Fury (late 80s release I think) that a kind chap on Britmodeller (trickydicky210) donated. Decals are from an Airfix version that came with it as the original kit ones were pretty curly.
Other than replacing the undercarriage doors with thin plastic versions it is ‘from the box’
Lifecolor Sky and Vallejo Model Air Dark Sea Grey (I know it’s meant to be EDSG) applied by airbrush, Tamiya Gloss Acrylic then decals and MiG satin varnish to finish.
I was fortunate to attend Goodwood 74MM, here are some pictures of the awesome Group 5 Sports Cars class during their ‘demo’ run. There was some serious power being demonstrated by the drivers including Derek Bell, David Piper and Richard Attwood. Spectacular on track action by Ferrari 512, Lola T70 and Porsche 917.
When I heard the USAF were remanufacturing some Texans they reclaimed from Davis-Monthan as part of an Austerity plan to
bolster homeland security (given the loss of funding for F-22\F-35) then I had to build one in small scale. I gather they are
reinforcing the wing with carbon fibre to ensure that a launching missile does not damage the plane.
Kit is Heller 1/72 with sidewinders, launch rails, seat, pilot and decals reclaimed from a part built Hasegawa F-16 I found in the loft.
Painted with Lifecolor US low-viz greys, base is plastic coffee jar lid with brass rod in drilled hole and then lid weighted with polyfiller
Spinning prop is Photoshop as I couldn’t get blown prop to show any motion blur in pics
